Agile has different 'flavors' or specific ways of doing things:
- Scrum: Think of a rugby team huddle, or 'scrum', where players quickly plan their next move. Scrum is a popular Agile method that organizes work into short, time-boxed periods called 'sprints' (usually 1-4 weeks long). During a sprint, a team focuses on completing a small set of features. They have daily stand-up meetings to quickly share progress and problems, and they regularly show their work to get feedback. It's all about teamwork, quick cycles, and continuous improvement.
- Kanban: Imagine a whiteboard with sticky notes moving from 'To Do' to 'Doing' to 'Done'. Kanban is a visual way to manage work. It uses a board (physical or digital) to show all the tasks, who is working on what, and what stage each task is in. It helps teams see bottlenecks (where work gets stuck) and keeps the flow of work smooth. Kanban is great for managing ongoing work and making sure tasks move forward efficiently.
